# A real inbox for Cloudflare Email Routing

Routing gets the message to a destination. DomainSend is the destination: read, search, draft, send. No IMAP server.

Cloudflare Email Routing is a router, not an inbox. It forwards a message to a destination. DomainSend is that destination: a hosted browser inbox. Mail hits Routing, the Worker stores it, and you open it at app.sendwithflare.com. You read, search, draft, and send from your domain without standing up an IMAP server. If you already keep DNS on Cloudflare and got tired of forwarding everything into Gmail, this is the missing layer. The router stays Cloudflare. The inbox is DomainSend.

## Routing vs DomainSend

Email Routing moves the message. DomainSend is where you work the message.

| Capability | Email Routing | DomainSend |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Read | No. It delivers somewhere else. | Yes. Browser inbox. |
| Search | No | Yes |
| Drafts | No | Yes |
| Send | Not an inbox. Sending is a separate Cloudflare product. | Yes, from your domain |
| IMAP | No | No. Not required. |
| First domain | Cloudflare dashboard setup | Free for the first three domains. Pro is $10/month for 12 domains, then $1 per extra domain. Agency is $60/month unlimited. |

## Who it is for

You already run DNS on Cloudflare. You wanted a branded address without dumping every message into a personal Gmail. You want to read, search, draft, and send in a browser. See the [homepage](/index.md) if you still need the product in one paragraph.

## Who it is not for

- You refuse to use Cloudflare.
- You need a shared helpdesk queue, not a personal inbox.
- You need IMAP so Apple Mail or Outlook can log in.

## What the inbox actually does

- Web inbox in the browser
- Search
- Folders, archive, sent, drafts
- Aliases
- Attachments
- Tracking-pixel blocking
- Local cache

## Platform, not a client

Cloudflare Email Service and Workers are a platform. They are not a mail client. DomainSend is the hosted client on that platform.
